It’s evident that the iPad is the start of things to come, but as this issue between Steve Jobs and Adobe’s Flash grows old, it looks like some of the concerns regarding Flash as being less adequate then HTML 5, are a bit overstated. But Opera is responding the same way and if Microsoft and Mozilla follow, then we may see a new evolution in how this type of media is delivered.
But again, HTML 5’s media capability is not as fast.
The evidence is in this video. As a tester, this is suitable to know, at least for now, but things evolve. HTML 5 may move slower than Flash during actual run time, but there are other metrics to consider - like browser loads from the server, size of packets being delivered, and more. HTML 5 may prove itself as it becomes a ubiquitous platform in the near future.
I can’t wait to see how this pans out.
